G'day,
Larry here. Just in case we haven't met, let me introduce myself. I am a Rainbow Lorrikeet and I was born in Townsville 3 years ago. My mum Sue raised me from when I was just a few weeks old. She hand fed me with a spoon every few hours (no wonder I love her!).
My name is Larry - but I must point out one important thing.
I AM A GIRL
Mum originally thought I was a boy, so I had to prove that she was wrong. That was pretty easy. I just started laying eggs. However, as I am a talking bird, I had already learnt to say my name and she thought it would confuse me if she changed it.
I go EVERYWHERE with her. I ride around on her shoulder all day long. I love going out with her to the shops, the post office...well anywhere actually. I must be smart because I can say about 40 different things. If I am good, mum buys me a chuba chub when we go to the shops (the peach flavoured ones are my favourites). People always come up to mum and I and talk to us. They usually think I am pretty cool and I talk to them and do some of my impersonations. I am VERY good at quaking like a duck.
